Photojournalism contest (World Water Day 2008)
In conjuction with World Water Day (22 March 2008), the school is organising a photojournalism competition. All classes are to submit at least 1 entry.
Rules and Regulations:
The theme of the photojournalism contest is "Water". The photograph must be related to this theme. You may want to refer to http://www.worldwaterday.org for ideas.
Photographs should be taken with a digital camera with a resolution of at least 3 megapixels.
Entries must be submitted as both a hard copy (5R photograph) and soft copy (digital image file).
The photograph is to be accompanied by a short caption.
Judging criteria:
Strong composition and arrangement: captivating subject matter should be arranged in a meaningful or artistic way.
Brilliant colour: hues should be eye-catching and lighting should be used to enhance the subject.
Focus and sharpness: make sure the object has clarity, or use soft focus as an intentional effect to artistically enhance the image.
Creativity and emotion: don't hesitate to use a creative camera angle, and try to capture emotion.
Submission deadline: 17 March 2008 (Term 2 Week 1, Monday)
